The Magic Flute
The magic flute - for kids
In collaboration with kvoldskulin’s dramaclass and the faroese national theater.
April 2022
In our production of the Magic Flute, Mozart himself tells the story about the young prince Tamino, who is sent to rescue the princess Pamina, the Queen of the Night’s daughter. To help him out with this entangled story, he has brought in two of his opera singer friends, and his 14 most wonderful drama students.
The Queen of the Night is sung by Faroese soprano Birita Adela Davidsen, and Sarastro by American bariton Douglas Yates. Their arias are sung in full lenght in the traditional language to insure the connection to the origin, while the kids speak and sing bits from arias and ensemble in Faroese.
